Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate People Operations leader with a proven track record of scaling organizations and managing multinational teams. In this role, you will work closely with leadership to drive talent strategy, optimize our people processes, and ensure our team members feel supported and engaged. You’ll leverage your deep recruiting expertise and expand your knowledge in HR, operations, and compliance as you contribute to the business overall growth.
Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition + Management: Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, from strategy to execution, ensuring the recruitment of top talent across multiple countries (U.S. and Canada). Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Scaling + Growth: Successfully scale the organization from early-stage to mid-size (10-100 or 50-500 employees), navigating the complexities of rapid growth, cross-borderbteam dynamics, and evolving operational needs.
People Operations: Manage core people operations functions, including performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, and employee engagement. Build processes that ensure a smooth employee experience as the company scales.
Compliance + Legal: Stay up-to-date with employment laws and regulations across the U.S. and Canada, ensuring compliance with local labor laws, tax laws, and benefits programs. Advise leadership on legal and regulatory matters related to HR.
Culture + Engagement: Foster a positive company culture by developing and implementing initiatives that engage employees, drive retention, and align with the company’s mission and values. Act as a trusted advisor for leadership and staff alike.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data and insights to drive continuous improvement in people-related strategies. Analyze trends in performance, turnover, and employee engagement to develop actionable recommendations.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with business leaders and teams in areas such as finance, legal, and operations to ensure alignment of people initiatives with overall business objectives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, or related fields, with a strong foundation in recruitment and talent management.
- Proven experience in scaling organizations from 10-100 or 100-500 employees, particularly in high-growth or startup environments.
- Deep understanding of U.S. and Canadian employment law, regulations, and compliance, including labor laws, benefits, and compensation practices.
- Highly thoughtful, hands-on, and adaptable, with a growth mindset and a passion for continuous learning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with team members across levels and geographies.
- A natural recruiter who has expanded your skill set to include other key components of People Operations.
- A go-getter with a hunger for challenges, and a drive to create and implement solutions.
- Experience managing and supporting teams in multiple regions, with a deep understanding of the cultural nuances and operational differences between the U.S. and Canada.
